Once upon a time, don Martindale waited nearly a decade for his second job as NFL defense coordinator. Two years later, Martindale was awarded the highest salary contract at the same location.
Crow signed a three-year contract with Martindale to become the league’s highest paid defense coordinator, NFL Network reported Saturday.
If Martindale’s excellent performance continues, he may be poached in the middle of the contract. The giants interviewed him in January for the job of head coach.
Two years ago, John Harbaugh promoted Martin Dale, the Lineback coach, to defensive coordinator. Raven ranks first in the league in comprehensive defense in 2018, and second in scoring League. Last season, these two data ranked fourth and third respectively.
It is worth mentioning that Martindale has used a completely different core player in the past two years. In 2018, veteran players Terrell Suggs, Eric weddle, C.J. Mosley and za’darius Smith all left the team. Martin Dale adjusted quickly, without losing the intensity of his defense. Defensive defenders Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters were selected for the best team, while linebackers Matthew judon and security guard Earl Thomas were selected for the professional bowl.
